The more varied and the more developed one’s skills, the broader one’s job options.
Knowledge of a foreign language is an important aspect of the basis preparation for a wide variety of careers. Speaking English has already become a standard (Clase ingles Madrid). The best way to learn a language is inthe respective country, for example a language class in Ireland: Cursos de ingles Irlanda, Scuola inglesi dublino or in England: Cursos ingles Londres. The student who misses an opportunity to learn a foreign language is, in short, closing doors to himself and limiting his career opportunities.

DIALECTS
As with many other countries in the world, having an official language does not mean that dialects do not exist anymore. In fact, this is one fundamental dilemma when it comes to languages. As they are part of the culture, the fundamental differences cannot simply be changed.
In Germany, the issue of dialects is quite important as their dialects vary a lot. In fact, only dialects in neighboring areas are understandable by inhabitants of the said areas. If you stray too far from your region, chances are that you would not be able to understand the dialect in a far region.

THREE months from now, I’ll be a student teacher helping out poor high school kids cope up in a low-income institution here in Oregon. As a math major in my third year in college and coming from a poor community myself, I’ve been craving to help high school kids. I empathize with them because I’ve been through what they’ve experienced – coping with drugs, struggling not to become violent and rob and vandalize properties that are not ours, etc. My peers who have fared better went on to become soldiers in Iraq because they can’t go to college. I don’t want to die early. That’s why I struggled hard to be in college some two years ago. I failed in university entrance exams because the education atmosphere in our public high school was not that okay because the No Child Left Behind policy was only implemented long after I’d graduated already. And so I tried to apply for student loans from Sallie Mae and it was good that I had passed.

PRIOR to entering college here in University of Vermont, I was news editor of our school paper Crusader at Christian Heritage School in Windham county. As such, I really wanted to become a journalist someday. Being in University of Vermont might be a stepping stone for me.
Unfortunately, while browsing through the website of the University of Vermont, I discovered that they weren’t offering any degree in mass communications. All they had were the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Education and Social Services, Engineering and Mathematics, Medicine, and Nursing and Health Services. I would have opted to take a degree in crop science instead as our farm produce was what pushed me to graduate in a private high school in Vermont. But I decided that agriculture was not really my forte, never mind the farmers, the fisherfolk and the food processors who take care of our day-to-day sustenance.
